PACE TEC: One of the 55 Good Things About WV

The State Journal selects PACE TEC for annual prestigious list of leaders

Morgantown, WV . . . PACE Training and Evaluation Center, Inc. (PACE TEC), a Community Rehabilitation Program in Morgantown, was selected as one of the “55 Good Things About WV” by the State Journal this May. Since 1972 PACE TEC has assisted adults with disabilities to identify career goals and obtain and maintain jobs throughout community. The State Journal solicits ideas from the general public and their internal staff to create a list of 150 potential candidates. After considering different kinds of venues and past accomplishments of the nominees, the selection committee chose PACE TEC to be among the 55 selected for this annual designation.

The agency plans to move into a larger and new facility in Mylan Park by early 2009, allowing them to expand their vocational training programs and services. Individuals with disabilities who are seeking jobs in the hospitality industry and who are in need of training will develop skills and gain experience working in a state of the art commercial kitchen and conference facility. Along with the new culinary arts training program, a large production area will also provide multiple training programs for product assembly and light manufacturing. Those interested in retail operations or customer services will receive training in a new boutique-setting showroom and reception area that will feature PACE TEC’s “Made In W.V.” products. Totaling nearly 17,000 square feet, this fully accessible employment training facility will provide modern career path options for individuals with disabilities.
